According to Nissan Australia, more than 100 of the new generation GT-Rs have been pre-sold - at $148,000 a pop - since pre-sales began on October 9. What financial crisis, I hear you say!

And there's further good news with Dan Thompson, Managing Director of Nissan Australia confirming that the Australian allocation of the Godzilla should be sufficient to satisfy demand for the local market:
"The early customer reaction is fabulous and we have secured enough production to ensure that no-one who wants an R35 GT-R will be disappointed.”

The
GT-R is powered by a hand-built twin-turbo VR38DETT 3.8-litre V6 engine delivering a mighty 353 kW and 588 Nm across a wide mid-range expanse from 3,200 rpm to 5,200 rpm. Boasting the latest technology and electronic wizardry including the world’s first independent rear transaxle all-wheel drive system, a GR6 sequential six-speed with paddle shift control for the dual clutch rear transaxle and an electronically-controlled ATTESA E-TS all-wheel-drive system, the Godzilla can boast Porsche 911 Turbo beating performance and one of the fastest lap times around the Nurburgring for a production car.
